Empire Promotes Jamals Love Interest to Series Regular for Season 4

“Empire” has added another series regular to Season 4, Variety has learned.
Terrell Carter, who appeared in a guest spot on the Season 3 finale, has been promoted to a full-fledged regular cast member.
Carter will reprise his role as Warren Hall, an attorney by day and an aspiring musician by night who is Jamal’s new love interest — but unbeknownst to Jamal (Jussie Smollett), Warren is part of the Dubois family, aka the Lyons’ enemies.
Prior to appearing on “Empire” last season, Carter had a guest arc on USA’s “Shooter.” His film credits include “Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman” and “Think Like a Man Too.” As a singer-songwriter, he has worked with Quincy Jones and a number of recording artists, including Patti LaBelle, Beyonce, and Celine Dion. He is repped by Momentum, Semler Entertainment, and Loeb & Loeb.
In addition to Carter, Rumer Willis was also promoted to a series regular for Season 4. Other new additions to the cast are Willis’ real-life mother, Demi Moore, and Forest Whitaker.
“Empire” returns Wednesday at 8 p.m., followed by the season premiere of “Star” on Fox’s new Wednesday night block. The premiere episodes will be a crossover event.
