These Were Your 10 Favourite Celebrity Red Carpet Moments Of 2023

A lot has happened in the celebrity world over the last twelve months (Barbie-mania, Taylor x Travis, Beyoncé's Renaissance tour, mama Paris Hilton, Harry Styles' buzz cut, Sofia Richie's bridal moment… to name just a few) but when it comes to A-listers, there are few more talked-about moments than those that happen on the red carpet.

And, as Google has exclusively revealed to GLAMOUR UK, the red carpet looks that got you all talking – or, rather, searching – in 2023 weren't necessarily the ones you might expect.

There was no Margot Robbie, for example, in the top 10 most-Googled celebrity red carpet moments of the year, despite the fact that she was on just about every single one rolled out thanks to Barbie's mind-blowing promotional budget.

There was also no Rihanna, or even Beyoncé! But who did make the list?

These were the most Googled celebrity red carpet looks of 2023…

10. Doja Cat - the Met Gala

Dressing up as Karl Lagerfeld's cat Coupette for the 2023 Met Gala, Doja Cat broke the internet the minute she stepped onto this year's red carpet. Wearing an entirely hand-beaded gown with a hood and cat ears by Oscar de la Renta, there was no doubt that this was a major fashion look – but it was the facial prosthetics in the beauty department that secured its spot as one of the most iconic red carpet moments of the year.

9. Jack Black - the Super Mario Bros. movie premiere

Perhaps a slightly more left-field entry for those not into their Super Mario Bros cosplay… but Jack Black's outfit to the franchise's latest movie premiere went even more viral than his co-star Anya Taylor-Joy's. With each actor dressing as the character they voiced in the upcoming film, Jack's Dayna Pink look saw him channel Bowser via a suit jacket with a green and orange shell mimicked to the back, and flames on the suit's cuffs and hem.

8. Ashley Tisdale

Perhaps one of the most nostalgic entries, it seems you were all enjoying a little trip down memory lane this year, as Ashley Tisdale's old-school looks from her years on the Disney channel were seriously trending – mostly around Halloween. And if you committed to this look in particular, with feather boa, sleep mask and slippers, we want to see the pictures.

7. Taylor Swift - Eras tour premiere

It should come as no surprise that Taylor Swift has made this list. After all, she's one of the most talked-about people on the planet. Her most-Googled outfit, though, came only recently thanks to the strapless blue Oscar de la Renta gown she wore to the LA premiere of her Eras Tour film. And that faux bob? Flawless.

6. Billy Porter - the Golden Globes

Wearing a velvet magenta tuxedo dress to the 2023 Golden Globes, it's no surprise that the undeniable fashion icon that is Billy Porter has made it onto this list. The mega look, designed by Christian Siriano, was undoubtedly one of the most stand-out of the night, and if anyone's going to pull off such a moment it's Billy.

5. Aubrey Plaza - the SAG Awards

Aubrey's beautiful Michael Kors gown – worn to the 2023 SAG Awards – may have caused a stir online due to the revealing nature of its strapped neckline, but her stylist squashed all suggestion of a wardrobe malfunction when she admitted that the pair “wanted underboob”. Looking that epic, we're not at all surprised.

4. Harry Styles - the Grammys

If Aubrey's look was deemed revealing, then Harry Styles' look for the 2023 Grammy's was even more so. A collaborative piece designed by Egonlab and Swarovski, the multicoloured rainbow jumpsuit was entirely covered in shimmering crystals to really exaggerate things – while a subtle jewellery selection and simple white shoes let the statement piece really take centre stage.

3. Dua Lipa - the Barbie premiere

We'd be lying if we said we weren't still absolutely obsessed with this red carpet moment. Attending the L.A. premiere of Barbie in custom Bottega Veneta with nothing but a white thong worn visibly beneath, this was one of those jaw-dropping looks that won't be quickly forgotten.

2. Brie Larson - the Fast X Premiere

From first glance this may just look like a simple – albeit perfectly-fitting – black gown, but for those with a keen eye for vintage fashion it is so much more. A 90s archival Versace classic with its plunging neckline and flared skirt, Brie's seemingly simple red carpet moment was in fact an incredibly chic and timeless display of fashion power play. Sometimes the subtlest looks really are the most impactful.

1. Sam Smith - Brit Awards

Perhaps their most daring look yet, Sam Smith's all-in-one latex catsuit with enormous bubble detailing instantly became the must-see red carpet moment of the 2023 Brit Awards. Designed by London Fashion Week label Harri, the custom look was almost balloon-like with its seemingly inflated segments. It fascinated everyone, and quickly-became the most-Googled red carpet look of 2023.
